In the standard method, the connection is made through the settings menu of the mobile device. The user does not need to download third-party applications, it is enough to activate bluetooth headphones and confirm pairing. In this case, there is no access to some parameters provided by the headset manufacturer.

For extended connection, use the proprietary utility of headphone or smartphone manufacturers: Sony | Headphone Connect, Samsung Level and Motorola Connect. Such programs allow you to make advanced settings and know the remaining battery charge. If the application is not preinstalled initially, you need to download it from the official website or the Google Play store.

Instructions on how to connect bluetooth headphones to the phone in a standard way

  1. Open your phone settings and select bluetooth.
  2. In the new window, switch the switch to the active state. After turning on the module wireless communication, the smartphone starts scanning for nearby active devices. The search time is limited, more often it does not exceed 90-105 seconds. If no headset is found, the module will go into standby mode and you will need to reconnect.
  3. When the phone searches for new devices, Bluetooth headphones should activate discovery mode. The manufacturer is responsible for the implementation of the mode, more often it is a long hold of the power button for 3-5 seconds. There are headphone models where a short hold is used - 2-3 seconds.
  4. Pay attention to the power indicator. If the headphones are turned on in discovery mode, the LED flashes quickly and sometimes changes to two colors. When turned on normally, the diode blinks 3-4 times less often.
  5. If the headphones are in the "detection window" of the smartphone, the name of the headset will appear on the screen. You need to select an accessory, and enter the password in the window that appears - 0000. This is a standard combination for most bluetooth headsets.
  6. Further connection, does not require re-detection of the headphones. It is enough to turn on the power of the headset and bluetooth in the device settings. The exception is if the headphones are connected to a new phone.

In the second half of 2016, Apple introduced a new iPhone generation without a separate headphone port, after which smartphone manufacturers around the world followed the example of the "apple" corporation and released their devices without a minijack. As practice has shown, users can easily do without a 3.5 mm jack - in 2017 there is a huge range of Bluetooth headphones. But what about those who value their wired headset or simply do not want to overpay for a wireless module in standard headphones? Purchase a compact Bluetooth receiver. About the best inexpensive wireless receivers and will be discussed In this article.

How to choose a Bluetooth receiver

When choosing a device, it is necessary to pay attention not only to obvious things (price, case quality and battery capacity), but also to the wireless module - be that as it may, it is the main component of the Bluetooth receiver. When buying a gadget, you should choose the following characteristics correctly:

1.Bluetooth version
When choosing a wireless version, the rule is very simple: the newer Bluetooth technology, the better (Bluetooth 4.1 better bluetooth 3.0). This is due to the fact that in each new version wireless communication developers improve certain components (connection distance, data transfer rate, power consumption). It is strongly not recommended to buy a device with a Bluetooth version lower than 3.0 (also referred to as 2.1 + EDR). You should also pay attention to the Bluetooth version of the device from which music is transferred to the headphones:

When transferring Bluetooth data between multiple devices, the lowest Bluetooth version of all gadgets is always used.
If the receiver is equipped with a Bluetooth 4.1 module, and Bluetooth 2.0 is installed in the smartphone, data transfer will be carried out over the worst communication channel.

2.Bluetooth codec
On this moment There are three codecs for the A2DP data transfer protocol (used in all Bluetooth receivers): Subband Coding (SBC), Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) and AptX. The first is the worst due to the high compression ratio of the transmitted media file, which in turn degrades the sound quality. The best is AptX, which allows you to transfer music at a high bitrate.

Articles and Lifehacks

Headphones and bluetooth headsets for the phone - in the highest degree useful accessory, especially for those who have to be behind the wheel for a long time. There is no need to keep the phone near your ear, especially since it is simply prohibited in many countries.

It is enough to press a button on the headset - and you can talk without removing your hands from the steering wheel. The range of models of such devices is quite extensive.

Among them there are headsets that provide high noise reduction, headphones designed for high-quality sound reproduction, as well as just models with long battery life.

For most options wireless headphones they are not inferior to wired ones, the only thing they lose in is autonomy and, of course, in cost.

Headset options

  • One of the differences is mono or stereo sound reproduction. The first option is quite sufficient for a conversation, and even more preferable in certain circumstances. The second is more suitable for listening to music.
  • The type of headphones is also an essential parameter: they can be overhead or in-ear. The latter are more compact in size, while overhead systems are characterized by higher quality.
  • Headsets may also vary in time battery life. Depending on the type, it can vary from several hours to several days.
  • When buying, you should also pay attention to the mount. The headband has practically fallen into disuse, today headsets are usually attached to the ear with a special flexible headband.

Shouldn't be saving

Unlike wired headphones, this device is quite critical to the quality of the manufacturer. Here, the most vulnerable element is the battery, which, from unscrupulous manufacturers, can quickly fail or have a low capacity.

The poor quality of sound reproduction also causes a lot of problems, especially for those who purchase stereo headsets for regular listening to music.

Although, of course, such devices are spared the eternal problem - breaking the wires at the plug.

In one of the latest reviews, he talked about a bluetooth module with support for the Aptx codec and shared plans to remake the aforementioned FM headphones into a bluetooth version.

Now I want to report on the work done and the result. Briefly. Mostly in photographs.

So, there was such a product

As you can see from the photo in the first review, the headphones have a board with an FM receiver, two control buttons and a variable resistor for volume control, paired with a power switch, I decided not to throw away the existing stuffing, but to use it:
- variable resistor with a switch, like a power switch (otherwise, the amplifier module will gradually discharge the battery while the headphones are on the shelf);
- I decided to adapt the two available buttons to control the bluetooth module;
- the FM receiver board, as a basis for placing the bluetooth module, having removed a couple of interfering parts;
- and, of course, an LED to indicate the operating mode.

I decided to install the three missing buttons (soldering them together for rigidity) directly on the inside of the right ear cup

In the original version of the headphones, the microphone was installed in the base station. Since now the bluetooth version should be completely self-sufficient, having removed the smut) from the long-broken, but saved headphones, I installed them in this project.

By the way, the microphone was also installed unsuccessfully in the donor headphones: it was installed on the take-out, as expected, and at the base of the hood, i.e. in the headphone housing, which made the sound very quiet.
As can be seen from the photo, this omission has been corrected. Unfortunately, the microphone, with a diameter of about 5 mm, did not fully fit and protrudes slightly, but there was no other at hand.
For three soldered clock buttons, I drilled holes in the case and secured it with hot glue. All connections were made with MGTF wire.
Since the module needs power, and the battery compartment is located in the left cup of the headphones, having removed a single-core wire (formerly an FM antenna) from the groove of the head, I laid two MGTF cores.

I had to cut the tracks on the FM receiver board so that I could use the switch, buttons and LED with a current-limiting resistor. Connected to the module with the same MGTF.
The bluetooth module was attached with double-sided tape to the underside of the FM receiver board.

In the left cup of the headphones I placed the BL-4C battery from Nokia phone with a charging control module based on TP4056 with protection (I will not describe its operation here - there is a lot of information about its application and connection on the network). To do this, I had to dismantle the contacts in the battery compartment. I glued the same double-sided tape to the bottom to mount the controller. In the side wall of the cup, I cut out a window for connecting the charger from the phone (the compartment is closed with a decorative overlay). The battery compartment had to be cut to fit the battery.

The result of labor

Now the Scan button switches the track forward, Reset - the track back. Additional installed buttons: top - volume +, bottom - volume -, middle - play, pause and when held for 5 seconds - pairing with another bluetooth device.
After almost four hours of work, I received excellent bluetooth headphones for very modest money. The quality of sound and connection is incredibly satisfied. Just as pleased that saved appearance and added functionality (microphone).
P.S. to implement the work of the Aptx codec embedded in the CSR8645 chip, the signal source (smartphone, computer, etc.) must also support this codec. To transmit from a computer, I used an Orico bta-403 bluetooth whistle on a CSR8510 chip.

For a long time, only a wired headset was connected to a mobile phone. But in the mid-2000s, Bluetooth technology gained a lot of development. Mobile phones with its support have learned to transmit sound through the air. Headset manufacturers could not help but take advantage of this. The first models were inserted into one ear, and their main task was to free their hands while driving.
