All about backup and data recovery. How to restore iPhone and iPad from iCloud backup and iTunes How to restore a backup with a standard tool

In one of the recent articles on the site, we, friends, considered a method Windows recovery from a backup to another computer using software tools Acronis. And they used it to adapt the operating system to new hardware. In this article, we will again talk about transferring the operating system to another PC or laptop, and again about Universal Restore technology, but only from another developer company - AOMEI. So, how to save the developed system when “moving” to another hardware? Below, using the AOMEI Backupper tools, we will create a backup of the current Windows, deploy it on another computer and apply the Universal Restore technology.

About technology

AOMEI Universal Restore is a technology, the essence of which is to decouple component drivers at the Windows recovery stage. Designed for:

System deployment on multiple corporate devices;

Substitutions of individual components that may cause blue screen death (usually motherboards, processors, RAM);

Transferring a working system - with settings, programs, a profile and personal data - to another computer.

Universal Restore from AOMEI is simpler than its counterpart from Acronis. While the latter is a mechanism for installing drivers for new components, AOMEI's Universal Restore only provides a driver reset for a restored operating system from a backup. And Windows, in theory, itself should install everything that it needs on the first start. Which developer's technology is better? In most cases, you can get away with using the simplified Universal Restore from AOMEI. But the technology from Acronis is still more likely to launch a system restored from a non-native backup in some cases. Due to the fact that Acronis Universal Restore can inject drivers up to Windows startup, it can be transferred between devices with different hard disk controllers. And, as you know, when changing such controllers, the system has not yet learned how to change drivers without reinstalling.

  • Note : friends, neither the Universal Restore technology from AOMEI, nor that from Acronis, nor the standard utility for decoupling Windows from Sysprep hardware will help if the operating system needs to be transferred from an MBR disk to a GPT disk and vice versa. Since this question lies in the field of disk space layout and affects aspects of system boot.

AOMEI Universal Restore is available in paid editions of AOMEI Backupper - Professional, Server and Technician.

https://www.backup-utility.com/downloads.html

But, friends, trials are not suitable for using Universal Restore, you will need a fully functional edition of one of these releases. I will be working with AOMEI Backupper Professional. By the way, you can Russify the program. Inside AOMEI Backupper Professional, we will create bootable media. And with his participation we will carry out the tasks set in the article.

Create bootable media

We go to the section of the program "Utilities". Click on "Create bootable media".

Select the WinPE environment.

We select the media type depending on the BIOS mode - UEFI or normal.

We choose how you need to create media - burn to an optical disc, to a USB flash drive, or save to iso image. Here, friends, please note that you can add drivers to the media software, for example, for USB 3.0 ports or for the network, if you use network storage to store the backup.

Backup on source computer

You can back up Windows on the source computer either using the installed AOMEI Backupper program or from bootable media. But the last method takes a little less time due to the full return of the high-speed potential of data recording by hard drives to the backup process. Well, let's get started. We connect to the source computer from which you want to transfer Windows, a capacious flash drive, USB-HDD, or other type of drive. If both the source and target computer is a PC build, the backup can be stored on the former's internal hard drive. And then for the time of restoring the backup, connect this HDD to the second, target computer. Friends who do not know how to connect internal PC hard drives, see this article.

We boot the source computer from the AOMEI Backupper media if the backup method with its participation is selected. Let's create a new backup.

Click "System Backup".

Specify the path to the backup storage - to a flash drive, internal, external or network drives. Important: the path must be either the root of the disk or folders with Latin names.

We start creating a backup.

Restoring Windows on the target computer

We confirm AOMEI's guess that a backup copy of the operating system has been selected.

We live in an era electronic media. All our photos, music, important documents are now in electronic format and stored in storage memory. On the one hand, this is very convenient, on the other hand, one wrong click, and all files will disappear in an instant.

The good news is that you can still recover data, the bad news is that you will have to spend time and nerves if you don’t want to spend money and contact a specialist. The complexity of recovering files depends on where exactly they were located - in the phone's memory or on an SD card. Let's try to figure out how to recover data on Android different ways.

Preparation

You can erase the necessary files in any random way, for example, if, without thinking, reset to factory settings or delete the wrong files from the manager. Another option is to flash the gadget.

It doesn’t matter how the problem occurred, the main thing is to always remember the basic rule: if files are accidentally deleted, before restoring data on Android, try to use the device as little as possible. The fact is that if there are other files on the drive, it will not be possible to return the old ones.

If the SD card is cleared

So, if data loss occurred from a flash card, it will not be difficult to recover the lost data. All you need is a computer and, in fact, an SD card.

The first thing to do is download special program, of which there are a great many on the Internet. But it's better if it's a free utility like Recuva or TestDisk.

It remains only to insert the memory card into the computer and scan it through installed program. If everything is done correctly, the data should be restored. Do not forget to save the rescued files after you succeeded in recovering data on Android.

Is there life after a hard reset?

Often, users, having found no other way out, reset their phone to factory settings. In this case, the SD card remains intact, that is, all files on the memory card are saved, but the phone's memory is erased completely.

For those who are wondering how to restore data reset on Android after hard reset, the answer is simple: all the same third-party utilities will help. The problem is that the file recovery program may not support specific model phone. Therefore, it makes sense to try the free version first. The list of programs that can recover deleted data on Android - both on the phone and on the tablet:

  • EaseUS MobiSaver;
  • iSkySoft Android Data Recovery;
  • Wondershare Dr.Fone;
  • recovery;
  • 7 data recovery.

The principle of operation of these utilities is approximately the same. If you strictly follow all the instructions, even a person who does not have any programming skills will cope with the solution of the problem.

How to extract phone memory data using a computer?

Since the deletion of data is mainly the fault of the user himself, naturally, no insurance or warranty service will solve your problem. You will have to look for a way out yourself and learn a lesson from what happened for the future and save all the important data. So, the order of actions:

  1. The client downloads the necessary utility to his computer and installs it.
  2. The smartphone or tablet is connected to the PC using a USB cable.
  3. Perform a deep scan of the data.

Unfortunately, if you are using free version program, you will only be able to view the files that were found. But in order to pull them out and save them, you will have to buy a licensed version. In principle, this is quite fair, the client sees what the program is capable of, whether it is compatible with this phone, and only then pays for the service.

What is a backup?

If you have files on your phone that you really need and you are afraid of losing them, it would be better to periodically transfer them to your PC for safety. But you must admit, it is impossible to manually transfer some specific phone settings, such as SMS correspondence, phone book data, or special smartphone settings. In this case, a backup system will help.

First you need to turn off the phone and then simultaneously press the power and sound buttons. In the opened window engineering menu you need to click on the backup and restore tab and then backup. The copied phone data will be saved in the memory of the flash card and can be transferred to the PC at any time.

Now, when you once again wonder how to restore data from Android after accidental cleaning, just use the restore tab in the same menu.

Long live Google Services!

Usually, all gadgets, be it a phone or a tablet, based on Android are synchronized with a Google account. If the machine was logged in with account Google, and synchronization is enabled in the settings, restoring Android without losing data is not difficult.

If the user has previously enabled sync, all you need to do is sign in to the Google Play app using your username and password. The following will be loaded automatically:

  • all contact details (addresses, phone numbers, names);
  • application data;
  • photos and videos saved on Google Drive.

In cases where there is no Google account or synchronization has not been carried out, unfortunately, it will not work to restore data on Android using a backup.

How to return previously installed applications

If for any reason you have deleted mobile applications, which you now want to return back, it is very simple to do this. To get started, you need to go to Google Play using your account. In the upper left corner you can see three horizontal lines, when clicked, it opens personal section. Next, select the "My apps and games" tab. In the list that opens, select the applications that interest you and install them again on your smartphone.

If you want to return a paid application that you have already paid for, simply reinstall it. As usual, these applications are linked to your Google account and do not require re-payment. If the app you're looking for isn't listed, it's possible that you're signed in with a different account. Another reason for the absence of the application is its complete removal from the store for all users.

GT Recovery for Android: if there is no computer at hand

Let's say the Google account user doesn't have a computer either. What then to do? How to recover data on an Android phone? Even in this case, there is a way out, however, it will take a little longer to tinker. The main thing here is the presence of good mobile internet and great patience.

You can solve such a difficult problem with the help of GT Recovery for Android. This app can be found on Google Play. At the time of writing, the program is provided free of charge and, according to numerous positive reviews, is one of the best of its kind. The only negative side of this program can be considered that root rights are required.

First you need to download and install the application on your smartphone or tablet. Next, in the window that opens, specify which applications you need to find and restore, and start scanning.

At this stage, be patient, the scanning process can take up to 30 minutes, depending on the volume of the phone. As soon as the scan is completed, a list of all found files will appear on the screen. Select the required ones and click Next.

It remains only to specify the path to save. Please note that contacts will be saved to vcf format, so you have to go to the address book and import them there from internal memory.

Prevention measures

After it was possible to restore the application data on Android, it's time to think about how not to step on the same rake again. We have already written about what a backup is and why it is needed. Do not neglect to backup all important files once again, in the future this habit will help save time and money.

To store valuable files, you can use cloud storage from any services. The volume of such storages can reach up to 36 TB, and most of them provide their services completely free of charge. Thus, if a problem suddenly occurred and all your files were deleted from your phone or flash card, you can always easily and quickly restore their backups.

Conclusion

Unfortunately, no one is immune from such a nuisance as the accidental deletion of important files. For example, the disappearance of the first photos of your baby or documents from important information, sent the day before by the employer, is always capable of causing panic.

The main thing here is to calm down and try not to clog up the memory with new files, otherwise recovering lost data will be problematic. If there was no initial backup, and third-party applications did not help to cope with the problem on their own, you will have to contact the service center for more qualified help.

It happens automatically, once a day. COMTET offers an additional option - custom data backup and recovery. The client can create backups on his own using the hosting control panel (the option depends on the tariff).

To back up a domain (website):

  1. Go to section Domains>domain name> Manager Reserve copy.
  2. Click Backup.
  3. Specify the following options:
    • Backup file name prefix and description. You can specify an arbitrary file name. However, you can also configure the control panel to add a prefix to the backup file name. Keep in mind that the control panel automatically adds the date and time (UTC) when the backup was created to the names of the backup files.
    • Splitting a backup file. To create a multi-volume archive, check the corresponding box and specify the volume size in megabytes.
    • Location to save the backup file. Select the location where you want to save the backup file.
    • What data should be included in the backup. You can only back up web hosting settings or web hosting settings along with all user data.
    • Email notification after backup completes. If you want to be notified by e-mail when the backup is completed, enter the required address Email.
    • Block the website until the backup is complete. Check this box if you want to prevent users from changing content or website settings while the backup is in progress.*
  4. Click Backup. The backup process will start. Information about the execution status will be shown on the tab Current backup tasks. Click the button Refresh to update the data displayed on the screen.
  5. After the backup is completed, the backup file will be stored in the storage of your choice, and you can access it through the FTP server or from the section Domains>Namedomain> Backup Manager.

In order to restore data from the backup file:

  1. Go to section Domains > domain name >Manager Reserve copy.
  1. Select the desired backup file.
  2. Set the following options:
    • The types of data to be restored.
    • Block a domain (website) until the restore task is completed Select this option if you want to avoid conflicts that can occur when users change website content or settings while the sites are being restored.*
    • Send an email notification after a restore task is completed. Enter your email address if you want the control panel to notify you when the restore is complete.
    • Conflict resolution policy. Specify what to do if conflicts occur during restore.
  3. Click Restore.

    If errors or conflicts occur during data recovery, the wizard will prompt you to select the appropriate solution to the problem. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to complete the wizard.

    Note : the overwrite mode during data recovery means that all objects will be restored from the backup, regardless of whether they exist in the system at the time of restoration. The overwrite mode works like this:

    • If the object or settings from the backup file do not exist in Parallels Plesk Panel, they will be created and installed in Parallels Plesk Panel.
    • If an object or settings from a backup file is present in Parallels Plesk Panel, then the object or settings from the backup will replace the corresponding object or settings present in Parallels Plesk Panel.
    • If an object or settings exist in Parallels Plesk Panel but are not in the backup file, the object or settings present in Parallels Plesk Panel will not be changed.

You can choose the path for the backup base, for example, in httpsdocs (the root is not writable):
/home/vhosts/your_domain/httpsdocs/backup

* If this option is enabled, the domain will be unlocked within an hour. Not recommended for use, tk. if there are warnings during the archiving process, automatic unlocking may not occur.

Please note that user backups created by the Client are included in the disk quota (disk space). System backups are not included in the quota.

If you have any questions, please contact the 24/7

The data recovery process depends on the phone and Android version. For example, device data from a later Android version cannot be restored to a device with an earlier version.
