First of all, if you want to try installing Android applications in Chrome with your own hands, then prepare the browser itself. You will need Google Chrome at least version 37, and definitely 64-bit. Better yet, install Canary build.

In order for Android applications to work in the browser, you need to install a special plugin/extension in it, which is created based on technology and allows you to execute apk files. The official plugin is installed on Chrome OS the first time you load one of your select apps, but that doesn't help us at all because we want to go beyond those limitations. And here the unofficial ARChon plugin comes to our aid. Download the archive and unpack it. And then we install it in the browser in developer mode.

Now everything is ready on the browser side. But you can’t just feed him an apk file. The application must be designed as a Chrome App, with a manifest, an icon and other nonsense. For the laziest, there is already a ready-made test application in the form of the game 2048. Download, unpack and install in the browser in the same way as the plugin. You don’t need to do anything else - the game is available on chrome:apps and works quite correctly.

And for those who like to experiment, we continue the instructions. You can install any other Android application in the browser. To do this, you can use the unofficial utility chromeos-apk, which allows you to compile an archive suitable for Chrome from an apk. But this is a separate complex instruction, and for lazy people who like to experiment, there is a slightly simpler way. We take the test application (toy 2048), the link to which we provided above. If you look into its folder and go to a specific address, you will find the apk installer.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out how to replace the game's apk file here with the one we need. Therefore, we go to a well-known pirate site, where we select what we want to try in Google Chrome and download it. You don’t even have to replace it, but simply place it next to another name, as we did with the application for VKontakte.

All that remains is to open manifest.json, which is in the root folder of the application, and edit a few lines (file name and application ID).

If there is nothing difficult with the file name, then ID is already a serious parameter that is not so easy to determine. You will have to be able to find your application on Google Play and isolate this same ID from the address bar. It's terribly difficult. So here's a screenshot:
