Prestigio multipad 7.0 ultra firmware via computer. Firmware for Prestigio Multipad PMP3670B tablet. Installing custom firmware

3 - replacing the USB connector, battery, firmware...

In the first two parts, I described the Prestigio MultiPad 7.0 Ultra+ PMT3677_wi tablet computer with complete disassembly and replacement of broken glass - the touchscreen. Now it’s time to replace the USB port - neglect has left it in a sad state, and it’s also time to replace the battery - it barely holds a charge...

So, in our USB connector The plastic block to which the contacts are attached is broken. Now they just hang out, which can lead to a short circuit, which is fraught with the tablet, charger or for your computer if you connect your tablet to it...

Before replacing the micro USB connector, I recommend that those who are doing this for the first time watch videos on this issue - they are quite enough to have an idea of the nature of the work. I will limit myself to a brief description.

Then you need to choose the appropriate micro USB connector... and there are dozens of varieties. The photo above shows exactly the connector that we need.

We unsolder the connector, it is soldered into the board with four legs, in addition, there is a strip soldered on the bottom... and of course five contact legs... Since we are throwing away this connector anyway, there is no need to stand on ceremony with it, although we should keep it as a sample , according to which you will buy a new one, preferably.

It is better to use low-melting solder (one of my friends soldered with Rose's alloy or Wood's alloy), and a soldering iron with a sharp tip of 30 watts (for example, this one)... The mounting legs of the steel connector body can be soldered with stronger solder and a more powerful soldering iron.

We remove the old solder, use flux and screen braid for this. It is also advisable to clean the holes for the mounting tails of the connector.

We tin the lower part with a thin layer of tin, place the connector with the legs in the holes and solder the lower part of the connector, solder the mounting legs, and only then carefully solder the contacts...

For greater reliability, you can strengthen the connector with epoxy resin, however, later, if you need to replace the connector again, it will be difficult to tear it off the board...

I will say that I have not found exactly the same connector on sale here. I had to buy the most similar one, but with two legs... I have the Rose alloy, but finding it is a long story. So I soldered with a regular alloy... well, I soldered.

Replacing the battery on the Prestigio MultiPad 7.0 Ultra+ PMT3677_wi tablet is the easiest. We need a 4070100 battery (the marking on it is JCD 4070100, and the numbers indicate the dimensions in millimeters), 3.7 volts and the more mAh, the better... But here, alas, I found only very expensive batteries for sale here 5, 6 and 8 thousand tenge each... Buy these, if you add the cost of a new (albeit defective) touchscreen - this comes out to the cost of an almost new tablet with the same parameters... You can order a battery in China, where the cost is significantly lower - from 6.5$

It was decided to postpone this issue until the next issue is resolved - firmware. But there may be problems with the Prestigio MultiPad 7.0 Ultra+ PMT3677_wi firmware... The native software in this tablet causes legitimate indignation, it slows down the tablet and makes working on it hard labor. But you can flash Android 4.2.2 for pmp3670b with CWM () installed. In this case, the tablet works much more comfortably...

First, you need to activate the For Developers item in Settings, and check the box next to it - USB Debugging. By default this item is not present. To do this, go to - About the tablet PC, there we find - Build number and click on it 7-10 times until a message pops up that the “For Developers” item is activated.

There are several ways to flash the firmware, the easiest is using the Livesuit program... It didn’t work for me - the computer doesn’t know what kind of device it is and doesn’t install drivers.

But there is a program called QQPhoneManager, which automatically finds and downloads drivers; unfortunately, it is entirely in Chinese. There were no drivers found with it either... What is the reason? I don’t know... maybe I soldered the USB connector poorly... well, we’ll check that later.

There is also an option for flashing firmware from a microSD card, without a computer. The Phoenix Card Tool program gives this opportunity... Download it, download the firmware. Take a micro SD card of at least 2 GB. We take a card reader, preferably only for this card (my micro SDHC card came with an adapter that resembles a flash drive and is inserted into USB port). It is better to use the USB2.0 port on the back of the PC. Using the Phoenix Card Tool we do boot card with firmware. Then, in theory, everything should be simple - insert this card into the tablet, turn it on and the firmware will immediately start... Yeah, it ran away!

And here I had to jump ten times like a savage around a fire with beads... And then, I pulled out the card, SUDDENLY, without any system, during the next reboot, the tablet did not start, and on the black screen a picture of a dead android and the inscription “No command” appeared ". I turned it off, inserted a memory card, turned it on, and there it was - my dear! It was stitched for 3-4 minutes, when it came to the end, some inscription popped up - very quickly, I didn’t have time to read it and the screen went dark. I pulled out the memory card (later I formatted it in the same Phoenix Card Tool program). I turned it on - hurray, the tablet was flashed.

Now in the section About the Tablet PC, instead of our model PMT3677_wi, the model PMP3670B, Android 4.2.2, Communication module firmware 1.5 is registered... When loading, the same Prestigio screensavers remain... With this firmware, the tablet works much better - faster, more responsive, more manageable ... Of course, it is far from advanced models, due to its small volume random access memory and a weak single-core processor...

And again - when you connect the tablet to the computer, sometimes it is detected, and you can log into it... but more often not... Again, something with USB - in the near future I will try to solder it, because there is clearly a defect here: The USB tablet charges without problems, but the computer seems to recognize it and at the same time gives errors... Also, the mouse and keyboard do not want to work with it, the connected flash drive begins to be detected and immediately gives an error... So there is a problem with the USB connector be.

P.S. I soldered the connector, now it works fine, with the mouse... But it doesn’t see the USB flash drive... It is recognized normally in the PC.
