Due to its popularity (and in our region, Megafon, MTS, and Beeline sell exactly this model), I decided to write this post in order to send those interested here. Of course, there is a limitation - my method does not work with Beeline. Everything is completely different there (something they did with the firmware).

As you can see, the program interface is simple and uncomplicated: all you have to do is enter the IMEI of the modem (it is located immediately under the SIM card), and not be confused with serial number which is right there. After entering the IMEI, press the button Calcular mis codes and we get two lines in the black window - Flasheo And Desbloque. We don't need the first one - we are interested in the second one, which Desbloque. We record it somewhere, and insert the modem into the computer only now. The main thing is that it contains a SIM card of any operator, but not the one for which it is locked. Well, then when you start the program, it will ask you for the unlock code, which we just successfully received.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated. With Beeline it’s certainly more difficult, but not by much.

P.S. Speaking of birds, that is, the modem. Recently at work the issue of notifying clients via SMS came up. We decided not to buy them in batches on the Internet, but simply connect a modem (this same e1550) to the server. Immediately after the purchase (we took MTS) there were 2 problems - the modem basically did not wake up after rebooting/turning off the computer, and in the system it was defined as a CD-ROM until you launched the MTS-Connect program.

The solution to the first issue was depressingly banal (for me, anyway) - it was enough to update the software. That is, you download from the operator’s website latest version updates and that's it - the modem is correctly detected by the system after a reboot.

I found the answer to the second question on the Dlink website - just switch it to modem mode only, without any other functions. In general, it was written that this can be done using the standard HyperTerminal, but I found a simpler option - a program called My Huawei Terminal. No settings, the only requirements are availability on the computer .NET Framework and modem in modem mode (sounds strange but I hope it’s clear). After connecting to the modem, first enter the command AT, and if the modem answered OK, change the mode with the following commands:

AT^U2DIAG=0 device in modem only mode
AT^U2DIAG=1 device in modem + CD-ROM mode
AT^U2DIAG=255 device in modem + CD-ROM + Card Reader mode
AT^U2DIAG=256 device in modem + Card Reader mode

First of all, you will need Qualcomm Product Support Tools (QPST), you can download it for free from our website. Further:

1. Install QPST.
2. Launch QPST Configuration: Start-All Programs-QPST-QPST Configuration
3. Device Manager -> Ports (COM and LPT) Find the port number (for Huawei-3G Application Interface)
4. If there is no port number, click the “Add New Port” button

5. Here select the COM port that corresponds to the 3G Application Interface

6. This is how your modem should appear

7. Click “Start Clients” at the top

8. Select “RF NV Item Manager”

9. The following window will appear
10. Click Setting-Comport-Select a port

13. Click “File” again and select “Read Supported RF NV Items”

16. Check the “Hex” box and write the new IMEI in the empty fields. But you must write not in the original format (this is not possible 3 44 30 40 85 11 33 67), but in Hex format (this is necessary 8 3A 44 03 4 58 11 33 76)

Important: In the first field, be sure to enter the value - 8
In the second field, the first digit of your IMEI is as follows: 3A
In the fifth window, enter one digit of the value (in the original IMEI this is the 4th set of characters, usually tens (10,20...80,90)
In the remaining windows, numbers are entered in a mirror image.
Example: real IMEI - 3 23 54 30 15 61 53 37
Which must be entered - 8 3A 32 453 51 16 35 73

17. IMEI entered, click “File” again and select “Write Only Listed NV Item To Phone

All IMEI is installed.

Important: write the IMEI correctly and very carefully the first time, there will be only one attempt, the second time the IMEI will be write-protected.

You can try this with ZTE MF modems in the same way.

And another very simple IMEI method on Huawei modems

IMEI can be changed using AT commands and terminal programs. How it's done and the commands.

1. The modem must be connected to the computer and all drivers must be installed on it.

2. First, we give the following command to the modem at^datalock=”code” with quotes, where instead of the word code you write the unlock code for your modem using its native IMEI. This command removes the ban on writing to the modem memory.

3. Then, without turning off the modem, we give the command to change IMEI at^cimei=”new imei” with quotes, where instead of new IMEI write the one you need.
