Antutu benchmark smartphone rating October. AnTuTu presents a ranking of the most powerful smartphones. Who didn't make it to the TOP of the best Antutu smartphones

It cannot be said that the performance of smartphones is the main factor when choosing a device. But with the growing popularity of 3D games and VR, performance measurement has become more important. We offer you a rating of productive smartphones according to AnTuTu.

For more objective results, inflated indicators and failures during testing were excluded from the calculation of the final grades. A new factor in performance assessment was also introduced - job stability.

Testing rules

  • All ratings in the rating are average, these are not maximum values
  • statistical data taken for the full period from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016
  • to determine the final rating, the results of at least 2000 tests for each model were used

Overall rating of the most powerful smartphones according to AnTuTu

The ranking of smartphones 2016 shows that the most productive is the iPhone 7 Plus, followed by the regular iPhone and OnePlus 3T (remember that this particular device became the best smartphone of 2016 according to Android versions Authority).

The performance of a smartphone is determined by the processor under the hood of the device. Note that all Android smartphones in the rating are equipped with the latest generation Snapdragon processors (at the end of 2016) version 821, and only Vivo Xplay 6 and OnePlus 3 are running Snapdragon 820.

IN Apple smartphones A10 installed.

Since the rating presents devices on different operating systems, for a better understanding of the picture, AnTuTu conducted an additional comparison of the top smartphones of 2016 with other devices running the same operating system.

Rating of the most powerful smartphones and tablets on iOS

iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 were released only in September 2016. Both smartphones are powered by quad-core processors clocked at up to 2.4 GHz. That is why both smartphones score the same number of points in the test. Thanks to iOS itself and optimization, users receive high performance. These smartphones are optimal for 3D games.

Rating of the most powerful Android smartphones 2016

As we see, OnePlus 3T, which was released only in November 2016, ranks first in the ranking of the most productive smartphones according to AnTuTu with a score of 163,578 points. The Chinese smartphone runs on a Snapdragon 821 processor with a core clock speed of 2.5 GHz paired with an Adreno 530 GPU. The OnePlus 3T smartphone is available in two versions:

  • 6GB RAM + 64GB internal memory
  • 6GB RAM + 128GB internal memory

Second place in smartphone rating 2016 According to AnTuTu, LeEco Le Pro 3 (version with 6GB RAM) is ranked with a score of 158890 points. This smartphone repeatedly topped the AnTuTu rankings in 2016 until a stronger competitor appeared on the scene. LeEco Le Pro 3 also runs on Snapdragon 821 with a core frequency of up to 2.35 GHz. The processor is paired with an Adreno 530 GPU. The smartphone is equipped with 6GB random access memory.

The ratings of smartphones in 2016 look the same. Devices introduced in the second half of 2016 made it to the TOP (compare this Antutu rating with the Android Authority ratings given at the end of the article).

The gap between smartphones from A-brands and Chinese manufacturers is narrowing. A powerful smartphone can be found in any price segment. Chinese smartphones receive the latest hardware, premium body materials, and decent design. Therefore, the choice of smartphone for the user becomes less obvious and more complex, with many factors having to be taken into account.

You can always find and compare smartphones in the Five Inches catalog!

You can compare the prices and characteristics of the smartphones featured in the publication (as well as any other phones) in one table in our catalog.
1. Go to the “Catalogue” section (in the main menu). Enter in the search bar (in the Basic Filters block) the name of the model you are interested in. Click the New Search button.
2. Next, in the search bar, enter the name of the model with which you want to compare. Click the "Add" button. The message “Data loaded into table” appears.
3. Then you can add a third, fourth (and so on) phone for comparison, repeating the steps in the second step.
4. To remove duplicate models (in different colors), check the box next to the name of the smartphone and click the “Compare” button under the table. Now you will see in one table only the characteristics of the models you are interested in without duplicates.
5. To compare smartphones based on specific characteristics, check the boxes next to the corresponding characteristic in the “Table Settings” block.
6. Adding models can be done at any stage - the table settings you select are saved, and so are the selected models.

Last month, a number of very interesting and productive devices appeared on the smartphone market, and the developers of the famous performance assessment application AnTuTu Benchmark decided to update the rating of smartphones for September 2016 and, in addition, published the TOP of the best iOS and Android devices.

TOP 10 best smartphones

Immediately after, information appeared that this model had become, thanks to the powerful A10 Fusion chip, the most productive in the world. Now the data has been officially confirmed - the iPhone 7 Plus with 172,644 points ranks first in the ranking of the most powerful smartphones in the world. The iPhone 7 model, which has not 3 gigabytes of RAM like the Plus, but 2 gigabytes, took second place with 170,124 points.

After Apple's announcement, all attention turned to Chinese manufacturers. They really pleased us in September with their devices, which received a fresh Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chip and more than reasonable prices. In particular, LeEco presented a model that scored 160,856 points in the AnTuTu test and took third position, and Xiaomi updated its flagship Mi 5. The smartphones took fourth and fifth places, respectively.

The top ten was also occupied by other Chinese smartphones, only with Snapdragon 820 chips, including OnePlus 3, Vivo Xplay 5 Elite and ZTE Nubia Z11. The ninth place was taken by another model from LeEco - Le Max 2. Only the ill-fated one from Samsung remains in the top Galaxy Note 7.

TOP 10 devices on iOS

The list of the most productive devices from Apple is topped by a tablet. iPad Pro. With his 177,266 "parrots" he overtook the fresh iPhone smartphones 7 Plus and iPhone 7, which took second and third place. The 9.7-inch iPad Pro model is in fourth position, and the iPhone 6s Plus model, with a very significant lag, is in fifth.

TOP 10 devices on Android

Concerning best devices on Android based, then everything is simpler here. The entire top ten is occupied only by smartphones that are packed with the most powerful hardware. The only thing, compared to the overall top, is that the top ten includes ZUK Z2 and Xiaomi Mi 5.

The team of the popular AnTuTu performance test has published a quarterly report, which traditionally includes the fastest smartphones for April 2016. The TOP of the most powerful cellular devices included devices from both world-famous manufacturers and Chinese corporations that are dynamically gaining positions in the market. It is also worth noting the appearance of the iPhone 6s in the ranking, because previously Apple equipment did not make it into the overall TOP.

TOP 3 fastest smartphones

The long-awaited Chinese flagship achieved a record level of performance thanks to the use of the top Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. This chipset is equipped with only four cores, but their capabilities are comparable to those of laptop processors. The champion scored almost 137 thousand points in the benchmark, which allowed him to double overtake last year's leader for the same period (he then became Samsung Galaxy S6 with 67 thousand points). True, it is important to take into account that during the year the AnTuTu version changed from the fifth to the sixth, and in new program algorithms for testing and measuring performance have undergone changes. It is not entirely correct to compare them directly.

Second place in the TOP of the most powerful smartphones of 2016 went to Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The result of the smartphone is 134 and a half thousand. There is no information about which version was tested. This could be either the merit of the Exynos 8890 chipset, armed with eight cores with a frequency of up to 2.3 GHz, or the result of the quad-core Snapdragon 820 (some versions of the smartphone are equipped with it).

"Bronze" in the ranking of the most fast smartphones 2016 grabbed the iPhone 6s. Its result is 700 points (133,781 points) lower than that of Samsung. It is worth considering that the architectures of iOS and Android are significantly different, and there may also be differences in testing methodology. Therefore, such an impressive result is the merit not of powerful hardware (the processor in the iPhone 6s is dual-core, and the graphics coprocessor in terms of characteristics lags behind the chips of top Android devices), but of very high-quality firmware optimization, which benefits from every megahertz.

Other leaders

Fourth and fifth places (albeit with a significant margin) went to two more Chinese smartphones. With 91 thousand points, Huawei Mate 8, powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 950 chip, did not make it into the top three. Fifth place went to Meizu Pro 5, which scored 86,322 points. This result was ensured Samsung processor Exynos 7420, belonging to last year’s generation of Samsung chips.

The sixth position in the ranking of the fastest smartphones went to Samsung Galaxy Note 5, which scored 83 thousand “parrots”. Considering that the chip here is the same as in Meizu, the lag looks strange. It turns out that the Chinese optimized the OS better than the representatives of the Korean giant. LeTV Max took seventh place in the TOP with 81 thousand. It operates on the basis of Snapdragon 810, famous for its “hot temper”.

In eighth place in the selection of the most powerful mobile devices suddenly it turned out to be an iPhone 6. Suddenly, because in last year’s edition of the rating it was not there at all. Hardly an update to 9 iOS versions significantly improved the performance of the dual-core Apple A8. Most likely, the reason lies in the fact that AnTuTu considered it correct to compare results from different platforms obtained in current version benchmark.

Ninth place went to Vivo Xplay 5, equipped with a Snapdragon 820 processor and as much as 6 GB of RAM. Getting a smartphone into the rating is associated with a number of rather mysterious nuances. Firstly, according to some data, the smartphone scored as much as 160 thousand points (and would have been a record holder), but these results were not verified by the AnTuTu server (measurements were carried out offline). Secondly, the smartphone scored about 130 thousand points 18 times, but these results were not counted (AnTuTu representatives only took into account devices that passed more than 500 verified tests). The situation will finally become clearer only with the appearance of Vivo Xplay 5 on mass sale.

The leader in the same period last year, Samsung Galaxy S6, closed the ranking of the fastest smartphones of 2016. Just using his example, you can see that the testing methods in versions 5 and 6 of AnTuTu are different. The result of almost 77 thousand points is 10 thousand more than last year, and it is impossible to achieve such an increase only by optimizing the OS (initially not “curve”) in updates.

Devices from former sales leaders Sony and LG, as well as HTC, were not included in the list. One of the reasons for this is the fact that the new generations of flagships from these companies have not yet gone on sale.

A big fan of high-quality Chinese technology, a lover of clear screens. Supporter of healthy competition between producers. He closely follows news in the world of smartphones, processors, video cards and other hardware.

Many flagships appeared in 2016. To assess their power, the results of the AnTuTu benchmark are interesting. Today the site released a list of the most powerful smartphones for September 2016.

The following devices top the Top 10:

1. iPhone 7 Plus - 172,664 points.
2. iPhone 7 and - 170,124 points.

The first two smartphones from Apple are significantly ahead of their rivals, thanks to the A10 Fusion chip and the lack of QHD resolution on both devices and well-optimized software. It is worth noting, as for a flagship, a small amount of RAM: 2 GB for iPhone 7, 3 GB for iPhone 7 Plus. A striking example of the fact that the amount of RAM does not decide everything in the power of a smartphone.

Later, in December, a list of the most powerful smartphones for November 2016 was released, and iPhones still occupied the leading place.

3. LeEco Le Pro 3 - 160,856 points.

LeEco Le Pro 3 with a Snapdragon 821 processor, FullHD screen resolution and 6 GB of RAM scored quite a lot.

They are followed by:

4. Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus - 153,777 points.

5. Xiaomi Mi 5s - 142,280 points.

Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus and Xiaomi Mi 5s are equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipsets with a frequency of 2.35 GHz and Full HD display resolution. The maximum version of Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus has 6 GB of RAM, while Xiaomi Mi 5s has 4 GB.

6. OnePlus 3 - 140,288 points.

OnePlus 3 has the previous flagship processor from Qualcomm - Snapdragon 820, the same Full HD resolution and 6 GB of RAM.

The remaining four places are occupied by:

7. Vivo Xplay 5 - 138,706 points.

Vivo Xplay 5 has Snapdragon processor 820, a whopping 6GB of RAM and a QHD screen resolution of 2560x1440.

8. Galaxy Note 7 - 138,373 points.

Galaxy Note 7 has a proprietary Exynos 8890 processor (or Snapdragon 820 depending on the market) and 4 GB of RAM. The Korean QuadHD screen resolution is 2560x1440.

9. LeEco Le Max 2 - 138,026 points.

This powerful smartphone from China has a screen with a resolution of 2560x1440, an SD820 processor, and 4 GB of RAM.

10. Nubia Z11 - 137,685 points.

Nubia's processor is the same Snapdragon 820, and the older version has 6 GB of RAM. The screen displays in Full HD resolution.

So, now you know the most powerful smartphones according to AnTuTu. Test results do not reflect actual performance in Everyday life, but they give an idea of how powerful a particular smartphone is in terms of processing data under certain factors, where software is not in last place. All listed devices have incredibly powerful internal hardware, and the differences in the benchmark are not that important since each of them is really powerful.

The second photo below shows the top most powerful iOS devices, and the third photo shows the most powerful Android devices. The year is not over yet and several more flagship smartphones are expected, which may be included in the list of powerful smartphones for 2016 according to AnTuTu, for example, Google Pixel, Google Pixel XL and Xiaomi Mi Note 2.
