How to set a reminder in Google calendar. Reminder in Outlook. How to cancel a Google reminder

In today's lesson we will remind you of some event or future plans for your loved one only using Windows without using third party programs.

The instructions for creating reminders will be long, although in essence everything is done quite simply, you just need to delve a little into the sequence of actions. As an example, I’ll give you today’s situation, when in a new letter I received an invitation to a webinar, which I could simply forget about by the evening, because there are a lot of things planned for today.

Because Since my computer has a lot of different software installed for work, I just don’t want to overload the system by installing another program for reminders. And why install unnecessary things when Windows 7 and higher already have the necessary functionality. Of course, it’s not as wide as we’d like and maybe not very convenient, but if you don’t plan to create dozens of reminders every day, then Windows Task Scheduler is enough for you.

Let's get started: By the way, for Windows 7 and 8 the instructions are equally relevant, in fact they are the same operating system only with a different interface and, accordingly, different paths to the control panel.

Windows Task Scheduler

Start - Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Task Scheduler

Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Task Scheduler

Create a reminder in Windows

Create a simple task

On the left, select the task scheduler (local), and in the right window click the link Create a simple task...

In the name field: write the name of the reminder for yourself. In the description field: description of the task.

Trigger: accordingly, in my situation, I need a one-time reminder; if you need regular reminders, check the appropriate checkboxes.

At this step, we set the date and time for the start of the task; in other cases (regular), you will have a choice of the beginning and end of the task, as well as the days of the week, dates and times of each execution.

So as not to forget what we'll talk I create a task for myself in the form of displaying a message on the screen.

At the end of creating the task, do not forget to tick the checkbox below Open the Properties window after clicking Finish.

We're done creating the reminder, you can check it: on the left side of the scheduler window, click scheduler library and in the middle at the bottom of the list we see our task and its parameters.

When the reminder is triggered, a window like this will appear in the center of the monitor with your message.

Upon completion of the task creation, the properties window will open, because we ticked the corresponding checkbox. At the top, click the Conditions button and uncheck the checkbox Stop when switching to battery power, so that if you are using a laptop and running on batteries, the task will not be cancelled.

Below you can check the box so that a laptop or tablet that has fallen asleep will wake up from hybrid mode and complete the task. But keep in mind that if, in terms of power supply, your system is configured to enter a password upon awakening, then the task will not be completed until you log in to the system.

Minuses this method: Unfortunately, if you are running any program at this time as an administrator, the window with the message will be in the background, and in the panel quick access you will see a flashing button. And the reminder window is quite small and is not accompanied by sound.

Therefore, we simply create a second task that will be executed in parallel to the first.

Create an additional audio reminder

We repeat the above procedure until the step where we selected the item Show message, but this time we choose Run the program. do not forget that the date and time of the second reminder must coincide with the first.

Click the Browse button

In the explorer that opens, select any media file. You can open both audio and video, just check first whether this file can be opened with a standard player. And be sure to adjust the system volume and the player volume to the desired range, otherwise from unexpectedly loud music... well, you understand :) a good way to prank a friend)

Look again at the parameters of the created task

Now, on the desired day and time, you will receive two reminders at once: first of all, you will hear your favorite music that you have chosen, played by the player, and when you close the player, a window with a message will appear behind us.

Another reminder option

Well, here’s another reminder option for you: create on the desktop word document, it is advisable to make the orientation landscape, but whatever you have will do, write the desired message and set the largest font. When creating a task, we specify this Word document instead of a media file. Or you can simply create another task with this document.

Thus, during rush hour we listen to music, see a message in large font in Word and also a system message on half the screen :). So to speak, triple control or triple reminder in Windows 7 or 8 is created in literally one minute. Try it and see that everything is quite simple.

And for testing, you can click the execute button at the bottom right - green triangle (see 9 screenshots.)

The instructions for creating reminders will be long, although in essence everything is done quite simply, you just need to delve a little into the sequence of actions. Let me give you today's example... User website - Computer for dummies

At the Google I/O presentation, the company announced some small updates to the service. Google Now. One of these updates added the ability for users to create reminders based on their location and time.

There are several different methods for adding Google Now reminders. You can use your voice or enter a reminder manually.

To create a voice reminder, launch Google Now and say "Google" or tap the microphone icon. As soon as you hear sound signal, warning you that recording is starting, start the command with “Remind Me” (you will have to speak in English, everything is quite sad with Russian speech on Android) and add what you are afraid to forget. You also need to add the time or place when the reminder will go off. You can set a specific time or a general time frame, such as afternoon or evening.

When you add a reminder using your voice, Now will present you with a card filled in with the information you dictated, making sure it's correct. Click on the "Set Reminder" button to save it to your account.

To add a reminder manually, launch Google Now and go to the bottom where you will find a menu icon. Click on it. Select "Set Reminder" from the list of options. After that, you need to enter a name and select a trigger (time or location).

When adding a location to Now Reminders, it does something pretty amazing. When you need a reminder to pick up some milk at your local grocery store, you can simply enter the name of the store instead of the address (again, in our provinces, I wouldn't really hope for this). Now Google will find nearby places and use them as a trigger for a reminder.

You can't do this with Siri unless the address is saved in your contacts. address book.

Unfortunately, you can only access reminders in Google Now, and you won't be able to edit existing reminders. To access your set reminders, you must launch the Now menu and select "Settings>My items> Reminders". You'll see a list of your current and past reminders. Clicking on a reminder will only give you the option to delete it and nothing else. If you need to change something in a reminder, you can only delete the current one and add a new one in its place.

When your to-do list includes items that shouldn't be on your calendar, you need Google Reminders. This time management feature makes it easy to stick to your busy schedule without forgetting anything.

Google Reminders are part of Google Calendar

You may already use Google Calendar to stay on top of your busy schedule filled with appointments you need to keep track of. Google Reminders offers a way to make sure you don't forget the little things, too. Reminders can be set for a specific date and time and have many autofill options to make it as easy as possible.

Reminders are a great way to stay on top of your to-do list, and they stick around until you cancel them or mark them as completed. When you go to create a reminder, Google will use what it knows to help predict your reminders and save everything quickly. This means that if you set a reminder to call your sister on her birthday, Google will pull the phone number associated with that name.

How to Set a Google Reminder

This is important to remember: Google Reminders can only be set for a future date and time. This means that if you're trying to remember to pick up eggs from the store on the way home from work, it won't let you add a reminder for today because the reminders need to be set for another date in the future. Likewise, if you don't mark a reminder as completed on the day it was originally set, it will repeat. This is, after all, a reminder.

Setting up reminders is actually a fairly simple process once you follow these steps:

1. Open Google Calendar on your phone.

2. Click red plus icon in the lower right corner of the screen.

1. Open Google Calendar.

2. Tap a reminder in your calendar.

3. Click overflow icon in the upper right corner. (This looks like three vertical dots).

Create such a reminder using the tools available in Windows system 7, not difficult.

5.Select the action - display a message, click the "Next" button.
6. In the “message” window, write the message text that you want to see on the screen. Click the "Next" and "Finish" buttons.
8. The reminder has been created. Now this phrase will appear in a special window on your computer monitor at the time you specify.

If this reminder is no longer relevant, you can delete it. To do this, in the left part of the “Task Scheduler” window, select the “Task Scheduler Library” tab. The entire list of scheduled tasks will open in the middle part of the program window. Find your task, right-click on it and select delete.

You can set a reminder to appear on the screen every hour or other period of time. To do this, you need to select the “create task” tab in the list of tasks on the left side of the window instead of “create a simple task” and go through all the setup steps as described above.
