Inexpensive 7-inch tablets are the largest segment on the market today computer equipment.

Budget lines are available from all major manufacturing companies, including.

In mid-2015, a series of popular Tablets Tab 2 A7, A8, A10, differing in display diagonal (7,8,10 inches, respectively).

Model in question Lenovo tablet The Tab 2 A7-30HC, which we will review, differs from the rest of the line (A7-30GC, A7-30F, A7-30H) by having Wi-Fi, 3G Internet + GSM voice communication at the same time.

The new product was presented on the Russian market in the fall of 2015 with a price of just under 10 thousand rubles. Nowadays the gadget has become more affordable, and it can be purchased from 8 thousand rubles.

Reviews for this device are mostly positive, most users are satisfied good quality assembly from a well-known brand, good display and performance.

Packaging, delivery set

The tablet is packed in a black box with a picture of the device itself on the front side.

On the back there is a branded sticker describing the main characteristics, serial number And .

In the box itself, in addition to the gadget, you can find Charger 5V 1A, micro-USB cable for charging/synchronization, warranty service card, instructions for use in 3 languages (English, Russian, Kazakh).

And also there is a brochure-notice about SN data transfer and Device IMEI for registration and after-sales service.

Design, materials

The tablet is made of a matte plastic case, rectangular in shape with slightly beveled corners. The surface is smooth, pleasant to the touch, and does not slip.

However, the finishing material itself is quite easily soiled; within 5 minutes of use without a cover, the lid collects a huge number of fingerprints. Fortunately, they can be removed quickly enough with a spray and microfiber.

The device is available in 4 colors: white, black, blue and pink. It lies very comfortably in your hands, has a light weight - 269 grams and small dimensions: 191x105x9 mm (length/width/thickness).

The assembly was performed with sufficient quality, without creaks and, however, according to the experience of users, during operation one can note the appearance of some “crickets”.

On the front side there is a 7-inch display, on top of the “Lenovo” inscription you can find the front camera and the base speaker.

On the rear side there is the main camera, although without a flash.

In the center of the case there is a logo of the manufacturer, and at the bottom there is a sticker indicating the date of manufacture, serial number, IMEI numbers, as well as information about the need to use a charger with a current of 5V 1A.

There are no control buttons on the left side; there is only a compartment hidden under a flap for installing a memory card and SIM card.

On the right side there are buttons for adjusting the volume and controlling the device on/off.

At the top end there are jacks for connecting a headset and a micro-USB cable.

There is only one main microphone at the bottom end; there is no additional one to provide noise reduction.

Screen

The Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30HC has a glossy IPS display with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels and a pixel density of only 170 ppi.

The indicators are quite modest; grain in the image is visible to the naked eye. As for brightness, contrast, saturation, here things are much better - the presence of a good matrix has an effect.

Horizontal viewing angles are quite high - about 160-170 degrees. There is a little less vertically, but no color inversion is noticeable, only the brightness decreases, hence the readability deteriorates.

This model does not provide automatic brightness adjustment. There are also no problems with reading outdoors in sunny weather.

The disadvantages include some thoughtfulness of the sensor or its not entirely adequate behavior. It happens that it works every other time.

The sRGB color gamut indicators turned out to be less than the reference value, but only slightly; the color rendition of this specimen is on par.

During games, the tablet heats up a little, but everything is within acceptable limits, there is no discomfort.

The benchmark results are as follows :

Who doesn't want a tablet that can do most tasks with a price tag under 10,000 rubles? Especially in a market where most competing tablets come with a price tag of 20-30,000 rubles. Back in April, Lenovo released new series Tab 2, which were supposed to help compete in the low-cost market segment. There is both a 7-inch model and a 10-inch model and, of course, both tablets come with mobile communications, which will allow you to use tablets on a 3G network (more expensive, of course). Today we have prepared Lenovo review Tab 2 A7-30F (Wi-Fi Only), a 7-inch tablet that hits the market in the price range of 6,000 – 10,000 rubles (depending on where you found the tablet).

The Lenovo tablet offers a brilliant IPS screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory (as well as support for external storage). This is enough for most everyday tasks that might require a tablet. Fast and lightweight, the Tab 2 A7-30 meets the expectations of beginner and mid-range consumers.

Right from the start, you'll be able to appreciate the quality of the screen for the price you pay. The images are very bright and vibrant, and the screen is also the right size, allowing you to watch movies without unnecessary eye strain (unless you like to read subtitles most of the time). Colors are rich and vibrant, blacks are dark enough, and the resolution is sufficient to avoid pixelation.

The glass panel and digitizer are very precise and feel natural to the touch. Your fingers glide smoothly across the screen, and it's extremely rare that you have to press again to get the desired reaction to an action. The panel doesn't offer anything special like Gorilla Glass, you're looking at regular glass or Lenovo's own recipe, but the glass panel feels durable. We haven't exactly tested for damage, but the glass should be able to withstand average wear and tear without any issues. We recommend using a screen protector just in case.

Good sound is provided by the external speaker, which is not too small, but the volume and range are no better than most smartphones. The tablet doesn't offer anything special in the audio department. We want to say that with an emphasis on improved Dolby Audio, we expected slightly different results in the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30 review, we would have liked to see a stereo design with two points speaker system, but we also have to keep in mind the tablet's price tag. As for using the headphone jack or , the listening experience is not great. The Dolby app allows you to enable “Enhanced Dolby Sound”, which uses adjustments to the main Android settings. While the effect isn't too strong, just turning off Dolby is enough to recoil from the flat sound that pours into your headphones. The Dolby app promises a rich set of equalizers that try hard to add depth to what you're listening to, making music and movies a little more enjoyable. The Dolby equalizer settings are also fully adjustable if you want to tweak them to your liking.

The 1.3GHz quad-core processor seems to be efficient enough to run most of your favorite apps and games. As part of our review of the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30, we got to play with a selection of photo-editing apps, watch a ton of content on YouTube and Netflix, and spend hours listening to SiriusXM in a coffee shop, along with connecting the tablet to a pair of studio monitors. We also took time out from Batman Arkham Origins and Mortal Kombat X, accidentally forgetting to close a couple of applications in background before moving on to the next one. After all, of course, the Lenovo tablet's processor was stifling, not being designed for heavy multitasking. We were quite impressed with its performance.

The internal memory won't let you go wild, limited to only 8GB, but as mentioned above, there's a MicroSD card slot to help expand the tablet's storage capacity. And while the tablet advertises expansion up to 32 GB, SDXC appears in the list of supported memory cards. Typically, this means you'll be able to use a 64GB card or higher.

Wi-Fi performance remained reliable throughout the review process, with the tablet averaging 25-35 Mbps across the networks we connected to. Connection will not be a problem unless the source is too weak. We did not notice any loss of network connections, and the signal remained in good range and quality. As mentioned above, the model we reviewed, the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30, does not support a SIM card for 3G access, but there is another model that does, although it will cost you a little more. Typically, you can pay double for a tablet in hopes of adding a 3G connection (not to mention the prices for monthly data).

Battery life also becomes an interesting bonus with the Tab 2, as you get more than you pay for. Lenovo advertises up to 8 hours of battery life, but we managed to squeeze out even more. It all depends on how you use the tablet. Turning Bluetooth on only when you have to use it, and also keeping your screen brightness level up—even at low levels, the screen stays very bright—can save battery life. We left the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30 in standby mode (on but the screen was locked) for three days, and the battery performed just fine, even with Wi-Fi on. Depending on environmental conditions, the tablet will likely be able to last much longer in standby mode. Fully charging the tablet takes about 2-3 hours. For its price, you get a very good time battery life.

You have a wide selection of devices that you can connect using Bluetooth. We managed to move more than 15 meters away from the tablet with a quality pair bluetooth headphones, the connection was not interrupted, but streaming music continued to flow into the headphones. Additionally, the MicroUSB port on the top of the Lenovo tablet can also be used to connect USB devices, provided it has a MicroUSB to USB adapter. If you have an adapter, you can connect a keyboard, mouse, hub, card reader, external HDD and much more. We checked port activity using Logitech, as well as a FAT32 flash drive. Both devices worked as expected. We also plan to test a wired PS3 controller, we will update the article as soon as we get the results. We performed similar tests with .

Speaking of ports, the tablet is exceptionally simple. You have MicroUSB and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Both ports are located on the top of the tablet. On the left side there is a small panel that opens to reveal the MicroSD slot. You have a volume rocker and a power button on the right side of the tablet, and the microphone is a small hole on the bottom of the tablet.

The Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30 is equipped with a 2-megapixel camera for taking pictures of your friends, as well as a 0.3-megapixel front camera for taking selfies. Camera quality is minimal, so you shouldn't expect fantastic images, but the camera is sufficient for basic photography or Skype chatting. The camera doesn't have a flash, so don't expect to be able to take photos at night or in dark places. Again, the cameras are Skype-centric and don't offer much more. Plus, it's more annoying (and stupid looking) when someone holds up a bulky tablet during a concert to take a photo instead of spending money on a real camera or using their smartphone (what smartphone doesn't have a good camera and flash Today?).

The Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30 tablet has built-in A-GPS, G-Touch, and also runs on . Android update 5.0 Lollipop.

Now to the variables that were not to our liking. The tablet does not support NTFS format and MicroSD memory cards. We're left with FAT32, which isn't the most secure against file corruption and doesn't support files larger than 4GB (so you're significantly limited in the types of files you can save). This is a problem with most tablets. Fortunately, you shouldn't encounter the problem of corrupted files if you don't unplug the USB while syncing/transferring data.

Another thing we'd like to point out is the ability to choose a default recording location. This means you can choose between internal memory and a MicroSD card. Since 8 GB also includes the operating system and any other software/ applications that come with your tablet. In total, you will only have 4-5 GB left, which means the tablet will fill up very quickly. By default, the tablet used system memory. We changed the add-on to the MicroSD card only to discover some time later that the tablet was being used again system setup. We couldn't find any reason for this strange behavior, but the situation is annoying since you don't want to waste space internal memory(better to save this space for system files and system caching).

If you don't intend to use the tablet for watching heavy movies, the few complaints that come with memory limitations, you shouldn't have any problems.

As mentioned above, there is also a 10-inch version of the tablet, which also offers a higher resolution (1920 x 1200), double the amount of memory, 16GB of internal memory and a powerful 1.5GHz quad-core 64-bit processor. Slightly better in all respects, the tablet will cost you 13,000 rubles. It's also not a bad tablet overall, although we only spent a short time reviewing this model because we don't have one in the office.

Summing up

For the money, the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30 is an excellent tablet. It's fast enough and smart enough for most problems you'd want to solve. The tablet does not offer best camera(s) or fantastic Gorilla Glass, but almost everything else is in place. The tablet is equipped good screen, reliable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and a MicroSD slot. If you're not an avid power user, this is a great choice. We decided to rate it 8 out of 10 points. What could give the tablet a better rating? Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30 had enough 16 GB of internal memory and NTFS support for MicroSD cards(and up to 128 GB of expandable memory). The ideal solution would these updates be made without changing the price.

8 Overall Score

Verdict:

The tablet is suitable for kids, work on the go, listening to music and specialized tasks like home automation, analytics, interactive demos and more. You get all this for a great price.

Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30 is budget tablet from an already well-known manufacturer. It is worth immediately noting that the device has both advantages and disadvantages, and probably the most important thing will be the cost, it is actually affordable. In addition, we get a 4-core processor, but unfortunately only with 1 GB of RAM, which is clearly not enough, however, if you do not run resource-intensive applications, this will be quite enough. Game lovers will likely be disappointed; the device has an outdated graphics core that will not allow you to play the latest games, however, most of the applications from last year will have to run. Also, the tablet has a fairly high-quality screen with well-reproduced colors and a margin of brightness, which is undoubtedly pleasing. Regarding the cameras, “photographers” will be disappointed; the installed 2 MP and 0.3 MP are clearly not enough, although the Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30 does not position itself as a tablet intended for photography. Many users point out that the touchscreen is not the most responsive, in principle, this is the way it is, sometimes you have to tap the screen a couple of times, however, if you do not play, but use the Internet, such a “minus” will be very useful, as most unnecessary touches of the screen in this way disappears. Overall, a pretty good tablet for its price. cash. Tablet mania recommends.

Conclusion

It’s a pretty good tablet that has a lot of advantages, but unfortunately, you shouldn’t forget about the disadvantages. Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30 is suitable for those who use the Internet, watch movies, listen to music, and regarding games, it is worth using some other model. Also, regarding the cost, it is quite affordable and undoubtedly pleases.

High quality screen. The matrix actually has good color reproduction and viewing angles are good;

Not a bad battery. For such a price, the tablet has a fairly large battery;

Tight touchscreen. Controversial minus.

Weak graphics core. Modern games will not work;

Often tablets serve not only as an entertainment center, but also for work, especially if they have a 3G module. This is exactly the tablet we came to test. Meet the affordable 7-inch tablet with GPS support(A-GPS), 3G module and the ability to make voice calls - Lenovo TAB 2 A7-30.

The scope of delivery for this model is standard. In addition to the tablet itself, the medium-sized box contains a 1A charger, a medium-long USB cable and paper documentation.

Appearance and ergonomics

Due to the display aspect ratio of 16:9, the device is not very wide. By and large, we have a very large smartphone in front of us. The dimensions of the device are 191x105x9.3 mm and weight is 269 grams.

The front side of Lenovo TAB 2 A7-30HC covers protective glass. The microphone is located at the bottom end. On the top there is a USB connector and a 3.5 mm audio output. The location of the mechanical keys is standard - on the right side. The back side is covered with a matte black cover. It cannot be removed. In the upper left corner is the main camera lens.

Overall the case is good, but not without its shortcomings. Among the latter, it is worth highlighting the loose fit back cover. And if there is no squeaking for the first couple of days, then over time the “crickets” still appear. Otherwise, in terms of ease of use, everything is excellent.

Software and shell

The tablet is running operating system Android 4.4.2. A proprietary interface is used as a shell Lenovo Launcher HD version 1.4.5. The interface is familiar from the company's other smartphones/tablets, so we won't go into detail about it. Let's just say that the device works quite quickly.

Hardware platform

The heart of the Lenovo TAB 2 A7-30HC is a quad-core MediaTek processor MT8382. Each of the four ARM Cortex-A7 (ARMv7-a) cores operates at up to 1.3 GHz. The integrated Mali-400 MP2 GPU has a maximum frequency of 500 MHz.

The company did not implement support for two SIM cards for working in 3G networks, which is provided by the chipset, and limited itself to one slot for one “regular” SIM card of the miniSIM standard. The RAM is 1GB, but only about 300MB is available once turned on. The built-in storage has a capacity of 16 GB of which 12.66 GB is available to the user.

The dialer interface is familiar from other Lenovo devices. The speaker volume during a call is excellent, and the quality of the microphone is not disappointing. In this parameter, the tablet can give odds to some smartphones. It is also worth noting that there is a Dolby Audio logo on the back of the cover. The interface and impressions of the software equalizer are generally the same as on.

Wireless interfaces presented Wi-Fi standard IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, the previously mentioned cellular module supporting data transmission according to UMTS / HSPA+ / EDGE standards, Bluetooth 4.0, FM receiver, as well as GPS with A-GPS support.

The tablet is hardly suitable for games, although Real Racing 3 runs at maximum settings with very small and rare jerks, but Dead Trigger 2 was a little slower.

We checked the omnivorousness of the built-in player using AnTuTu Video Tester, which confirmed that to launch video files you should use a third-party player.

Autonomy

The capacity of the built-in battery is 3500 mAh. For a seven-inch tablet, this is neither more nor less. During testing, the tablet performed well. For two hours of playing a video from YouTube at a brightness of 53% (150 cd/m²), the discharge was 29%; with the same parameters in reading mode, the consumption was 22%. In general, the results are good and confirmed by synthetic tests.

Display and cameras

Lenovo TAB 2 A7-30HC has a 7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1024x600 pixels without air gap. The resolution by 2015 standards is not very high, which, of course, you immediately notice. The pixel grid is visible to the naked eye. The maximum screen brightness is 267 cd/m², and the minimum is 28 cd/m². Contrast ratio 1:809. There is no automatic brightness adjustment sensor, however, nor is there an oleophobic coating. On the street, the tablet screen fades greatly, but the information remains readable.

We checked the factory screen calibration and can say that the screen is relatively good. Yes, the color gamut is somewhat narrower than the standard sRGB, but the color temperature is only slightly higher than the reference value of 6500K.

To sum up my impressions of the screen, it’s quite good. True, not everyone will like the small resolution. Also, in our copy the sensor did not work quite stably. Taps on the screen were not always accurately detected. Perhaps this is a problem only with our device.

It is also worth mentioning that the tablet is equipped with two cameras. Front 0.3 MP and main 2 MP. Both cameras do not have autofocus. And they don’t meet modern requirements at all, although there are some settings and additional modes. But even they are not able to take high-quality pictures in good lighting conditions on the street.

The cost of the tablet at the time of writing is UAH 3,699. At the same time, the device is one of the most affordable tablets with a 3G module and IPS screen among first-tier manufacturers. Yes, the Lenovo TAB 2 A7-30HC has disadvantages, primarily related to the low screen resolution, the quality of both cameras, and the not-so-rigid body. At the same time, it offers good battery life, a loud speaker, the ability to make calls from a tablet without using a headset, and the presence of a GPS module (A-GPS), which will prove to be a significant advantage in certain use cases.
