It should be noted that using a mouse in many programs is not necessary, since you can often remember keyboard shortcuts to call many functions (remember the famous ctrl+c, ctrl+v). Using so-called hot keys is convenient, but some functions will be very inconvenient to use. However, you can buy not a mouse, but devices that can successfully replace it. First of all, you can recall the following input means options:

  • trackball,
  • Graphics tablet,
  • touchpad in the keyboard or separate.

The trackball is a ball on a stand that you spin to move the pointer on the screen. Anyone familiar with a mechanical (ball) mouse easily associates a trackball with a ball mouse turned upside down. The trackball works exactly on the same principle as a mechanical mouse and its control does not require adaptation or special training.

Graphics tablet made for typing graphic information, used by artists and designers in graphic editors. But you can use such a tablet instead of a regular mouse. The graphics tablet consists of a tablet that is sensitive to the touch of a special pen (looks like a thick ballpoint pen). Using such a tablet is quite convenient in ordinary programs where we usually use a mouse.

The touchpad (touch panel) is very familiar to computer owners. Today you can buy a touchpad that connects via USB to any computer. The most convenient option is a touchpad built into a wireless keyboard. With such a keyboard it is very comfortable not only at the computer, but also in front of a smart TV.

Helpful advice: In the store, try different input means, then you will definitely understand which device is more convenient for you.

Interestingly, today you can find original hybrids of the devices described above, for example, a mouse with a trackball, which can also be convenient when used in individual programs.

A computer mouse is such a dull and ordinary item that the thought of buying it in China will not come to everyone. It’s much easier to go to any digital equipment store and buy the mouse you like. In addition to saving time, an obvious advantage is that you will have the opportunity to choose a physiologically and functionally convenient gadget. The review is dedicated to a rather unusual “rodent”. After all, when we're talking about about a computer mouse, 99% of PC users imagine such a device
... although they also come in , and . Today we'll talk about a computer optical mouse in the form factor of a pen.
I purchased a hand mouse for my wife. The main mode of use is making presentations in Powerpoint. The mouse was not given any super-tasks other than to show off. I wasn’t looking for this particular copy, but accidentally came across it on the website

EQUIPMENT

The device came in retail packaging in the form of a combined blister.
There are no distinctive signs on the box indicating the manufacturer and model of the mouse. WITH reverse side packaging is something like a specification, at the end - friendly OS.
A small instruction insert in Chinese and English languages, duplicated information from the seller's page. The software is not included in the package either as a disk or as a link.
Another component of the kit is hidden in the battery compartment - a tiny USB dongle.

MOUSE

The physical dimensions of the gadget are 142x21x41mm, tactilely in the hand it is perceived as a stationery marker.

The assembly cannot be called high-quality: the plastic is thin, the assembly is clip-on. There is a sticker on the case with the device parameters.
The entire structure is based on 1 screw, hidden under this very sticker.
Under the pressure of compression and twisting, the rodent squeaks pitifully. The shaking produces a clattering noise from the only loose button located in the center (aka the “left” button in a regular mouse).
To eliminate discomfort, a small piece of double-sided tape was used as the base of the button. The gaps also cannot be called ideal... actually, China. The weight is almost imperceptible.
There are 4 buttons and 1 wheel found on the device.
The button travel is short and rigid; when pressed, they click dryly. Scrolling works smoothly, there is no button function. The CPI switch button does not have any indicators; it is not clear which mode is selected. I have not noticed any visual difference in switching CPI from 500 to 1000 and vice versa.
On the belly of the mouse there is a toggle switch for turning on the device. This can only be done with a toothpick or a paper clip.

DISASSEMBLY

I don’t feel any pleasure from this process, but I sacredly honor the traditions.

I won't try to decipher the inscriptions, because... I don’t understand a damn thing about this. The only thing that is clear to me is that the components of 2013 are “stone age” by the standards of digital technology.

CONNECTION AND OPERATION

To connect a mouse to a PC, you do not need a disk or a tambourine. You just need to insert the dongle into USB and turn on the mouse. The cursor was picked up even without rebooting the computer and the device worked correctly. The recorded operating range of the device is 5-6 meters. After turning on the mouse, I decided to run the device through a couple of tests. I sifted through the general technical parameters of the mouse with the program AIDA64

Our mouse is called ELAN PS/2 Port Smart-Pad. The parameters show the capabilities of the gadget. Contrary to expectations, the windows Functions static - you cannot check or uncheck the box. After establishing the pedigree of the device, the search for drivers becomes. We will need them in case of sudden “amnesia” of the mouse.
The smoothness of cursor movement across the surface of the monitor depends on the mouse polling frequency. The size of this indicator for the monitored can be recorded using the program Mouse Rate Checker .
The average result is 200. The result is literally “average”: gaming units give readings many times higher. For average needs it is quite sufficient. For comparison with a “mere mortal” wired mouse, its indicator barely exceeds 140-150 Hertz.
It is not possible to check DPI, because... I didn’t find a corresponding program on the Internet (does it exist?). The dongle practically does not heat up during operation. I have not checked the autonomy yet, the period of use is short.

PECULIARITIES

The whole mouse is a complete feature and if you are not ready to use it, you should not buy it in the first place. If the desire to stand out exceeds the developed habit, then keep in mind:
- Using the mouse at first is very inconvenient. After 2-3 days, an ordinary mouse will seem uncomfortable to you;
- After you start using it for 2-3 hours, you will have to look to see if the thumb responsible for the “right” key is there. IN this device this button practically does not protrude above the surface of the case and the rough skin of the finger does not feel it;
- Mouse scrolling works the other way around, that is, by turning the wheel “towards you” the page will not go down, but up;
- The tilt of the mouse-pen is only possible by 40-45* relative to the vertical. At a greater angle of inclination, the connection with the surface is lost and the cursor gets stuck.
In operation the mouse looks like this:
The model was an older boy about six years old

CONCLUSIONS

The mouse works and performs the assigned functionality. It is unlikely to be suitable for shooting at tanks, but it will do as an original gift or for a narrow range of tasks. I'm planning to buy +11 Add to favorites I liked the review +19 +36

I work in a graphics editor and generally spend the whole day at the computer - and for me the mouse is not just a device - but a tool for work. Therefore, having stumbled upon this miracle device in the vastness of Aliexpress, I decided to try it in action - fortunately, the price allows for experimentation. Here is the link to the store. The seller packed everything perfectly and sent it quickly - the parcel arrived in Kyiv in 20 days.

So, constructive:

  • The device arrived disassembled. It consists of a stand, a mouse body, a cover that covers the battery, and a mini USB that plugs into a connector on the computer. Little finger battery. Not included in delivery. No wires are needed - which is also convenient.
  • The mouse body itself consists of loosely fitted parts, this, in principle, does not affect the operation of the mouse and does not rub or creak anywhere, lies comfortably in the hand and feels like a thick pen equipped with all the buttons of a standard mouse and a wheel. If you switch to this mouse completely, you can quickly get used to it, but if you use it from time to time, then it will take a long time to get used to it. Since the device is not rechargeable, there is also a switch on the bottom of the case - a small black button so that the battery does not run out when you are not using the mouse. How long the mouse runs on battery power is still unknown and will depend on the brand of the battery
  • the seller offers three color options

Job device:

  • No drivers are needed, the computer quickly recognized the mouse
  • You can work not only in graphic editors - but also just browse the Internet, although if you need to write something down, then you can put the mouse on a stand or just put it on the table. I noticed that if the table is as striped as mine, it’s better to put something homogeneous on it - like a sheet of paper - then the work is more accurate
  • I recommend slowing down the mouse for a more accurate hit.
  • I’ve had the idea of drawing on a PC for quite some time now, and dabbling in Photoshop and illustrator.
  • Yes, there are tablets for this, but I think buying, ala, “try and forget” is an inappropriate solution))

Therefore, it was decided to make from what was at hand...What do we have? That's right - mouse)

We also have a marker that you can try stuffing her insides into.

  • As it turned out, not everything is so simple, There are usually more parts in mice than fit into a marker.
  • However, if you look, then you can find a SINGLE-CHIP mouse, inside the kit - 2 electrolytes of 47 uF/10V (one on the power supply, and the second on the button) + a 100nF ceramic capacitor.
  • It connects directly from the PC, all buttons also go directly.
  • This chip already contains a sensor + controller.
  • Size – DIP chip.

1) How does the mouse work?

This is a CAMERA that “photographs” the surface. The information enters the chip, it compares this “snapshot” with the previous one and determines the movement.

  • She just shoots at high speed.
  • In order for the “camera” to see what it is filming, it is illuminated by an LED (usually red), you CAN install any one (of a different color/size). And power it from anything.
  • Light-emitting diode not synchronized, and the change in brightness is done to save energy, protect the matrix (camera) and aesthetics.
  • Important point– optics. The meaning is simple - you need the “picture” of the surface to be sharp (otherwise there is no comparison), in general, just like in your favorite soap dish.

2) What do we need in order to repeat?

  1. Mouse with one chip(Which one is above). Price – 3 dollars. From it we will take a chip, a body kit and a lens.
  2. Marker (also above). It's for 50 cents))
  3. Hot melt adhesive.
  4. LED 3mm (any color)
  5. The button is not fixed (there is a photo below). It will be analogous to the left mouse button.
  6. Something for decoration (a pen for design should have a design;))

3) Let's get started:

  • Disassemble the mouse (you can even break the case, we don’t need it). Suitable for us like this, it's cheap and single-chip!

  • Draw the pinout of the microcircuit ( the picture below is an example). The pinout can be copied from the board.

  • Cut off the unnecessary part of the optics and glue the remaining part to the sensor with hot glue:

  • Disassemble the marker. We don't need the upper part.
  • Make a hole for the button

  • Pull the wire through the marker.

You can take the following buttons, for example:

  • Using overhead soldering, assemble the MK + wires + for the button + attachment. Should fit in the marker.
  • Fill with hot glue (it’s better to check how it works first)

You'll get something like this)) No drivers are needed, the mouse is still:
