The teXet company is a brand of consumer electronics from the Russian Federation. It belongs to another large company - the manufacturer of Alkotel systems. Previously called Alkotel. The headquarters is located in St. Petersburg. The company was founded in 1993. Its creation is associated with the name of Alexander Korolkov, now the general director of the company (and also an exemplary family man). Born in 1958. After graduating from the Electrical Engineering University in the 80s, he got a job in his specialty (senior engineer). Following this, Alexander managed to climb the career ladder - he became the head of the Kirov Plant production association, one of the largest enterprises in St. Petersburg with rich history, which dates back to the 19th century. In the post-war period, the production association was awarded a number of orders.

At the end of the 80s, Alexander became the chairman of one of the first Soviet scientific and production cooperatives. It was Inpress. It is no secret that it was cooperatives that were then the creators of the overwhelming majority of consumer goods, and therefore this leadership position gave Korolkov invaluable experience, which was later useful to him for the main work of his life. Three years later he becomes director of Linpress.

1993 was marked by an important event: Alexander heads the Alkotel ES. In 2004, the modern company teXet was founded. From the very beginning, cordless radiotelephones have been produced under this brand. Next summer the company decides to expand its product range by releasing several models of portable music players. Very soon the volume of goods produced was increased more than eightfold.

Four years later, new products were introduced, including digital photo frames and GPS navigation devices. At the end of spring 2010, the first mobile device appeared. The company decided to focus on the then popular “” phones with large buttons and in large font, specially designed for older people.

By 2011, readers, video recorders and tablets for Android control. The following year, an important event took place for the entire brand as a whole: a company division was opened in Moscow, branded stores in St. Petersburg and a representative office in the Czech Republic. In addition, the company's official website has been updated and online sales have been launched. By the end of 2012, teXet was one of the top 3 leaders in the Russian market for the production of consumer electronics - DVRs, e-books, cordless phones, MP3 players, and so on.

One of the most honored, as well as the very first, areas of activity of teXet remain wireless radiotelephones and wired telephones. At the end of 2012, the company became No. 2 in the market of devices manufactured using DECT technology. The following year, the company began producing models with non-standard designs. For example, the RETRO DECT series attracted considerable attention, as part of which the most striking new products in the world were released landlines 2013. The TX-D7955A has become a combination High Quality and original design approach. The stationary device is made in the style of rotary telephones, which were popular in the early to mid-20th century, and are now falling out of use.

For example, in the Soviet Union, 5-wire rotary dialers were initially common, but later they were replaced by an improved 3-wire design. The TX-D7955A model is styled exactly like this type of device. It is offered in 3 color variations, including traditional white and black solutions. The original pistachio-colored model is presented only in . What is noteworthy: this phone is ideal for any room, regardless of its interior.

Retro trends have been complemented by more fashionable elements, and therefore the device will be appropriate everywhere. The new product is easy to use. In the middle of the “rotary dialer” there is a monitor equipped with a bright backlight and a keyboard. Functional touch buttons are placed quite conveniently; There are five of them in total. The shape of the tube is ergonomic and comfortable in size. Overall the structure is strong and stable.

The TX-D7955A is a very feature-rich phone. In addition to the standard set of functions (backlight, clock, alarm clock, speakerphone, repeating last dialed numbers, saving mode, and so on), there are other additional functions. Up to five handsets can be connected to one telephone unit. The device is equipped with an answering machine (maximum recording duration is fourteen minutes). The notebook and menu are in Russian. Inner memory can hold up to fifty contacts. Support for thirty numbers is also provided.

Another bright and original new product of 2013 was the TX-D9105A radiotelephone. It can work up to ten hours in talk mode, and up to one hundred hours in standby mode. Illuminated buttons and display, alarm clock, speakerphone, Notebook for one hundred numbers, conference calling and intercom functions, Caller ID support and answering machine. However main feature The device lies in its design: the base station is made in the shape of a dish with curved edges.

In 2005, the production of MP3 players began. Five years later, Texet was in second place in terms of sales of such equipment. This industry has developed rapidly. By 2011, seventeen new mp3 players had already been released, and thirteen more the following year. Among the devices there were those that worked on Android based. In addition, the manufacturer took care of developing small models weighing no more than fifteen grams, and bright youth options.

An example of an excellent compact device is the T-139 MP3 player. It is equipped with all the most necessary functions, and also features high-quality sound and an ultra-modern hi-tech design. This player does not have a display, only a joystick. However, the lack of a screen is compensated for by indicator lights. The player weighs only fifteen grams and supports the most popular audio formats. The volume of built-in memory is 4 gigabytes.

In 2012, Texet set out to release the thinnest digital photo frame in the world. Its thickness was only three millimeters. In the fall of next year, another equally interesting model with a huge 17.3-inch screen appeared on the shelves. In general, it should be noted that the range of frames is quite wide, and the minimum display diagonal is 7 inches.

The company is also known as a manufacturer of GPS devices. The first such device appeared on the market in 2009. It was the TN-510 model, a Windows CE-based navigator with a 4.3-inch display diagonal. In 2010, the company began producing equipment with support for the Bluetooth module, and also increased the screen resolution. Later, navigators with a radio, video camera, and so on appeared.

A new product on the market of car GPS devices is the TN-550A model. This was the first navigator in the Russian Federation based on the latest technology at that time Android versions. It was equipped with all the main functions of a tablet, as well as a 5-inch display with high resolution, powerful processor with a frequency of 800 megahertz, 4 gigabytes of built-in and 256 megabytes random access memory. It came with a 4 GB memory card as a gift. The navigator also had a built-in Wi-Fi module. The navigator body was only twelve millimeters thick.

The CityGuide 5 application was adapted specifically for this device (and its version of the operating system), as well as the Russian Navitel map (with more than 130 thousand settlements). In addition, the user gained access to many Google applications Market. This device marked a new milestone in the company's production of GPS navigators.

Subsequently, teXet focused mainly on multi-functionality. For example, from the TN-610 Voice HD device it was possible to make calls and access the international “web”.

At the end of spring 2010, the first mobile phone under the teXet brand appeared. It was a “granny phone” - model TM-B100. The positioning of this device seemed completely clear: it was designed for elderly people who most likely have vision problems. At that time, its main competitor was the company’s “granny phones.” The phone was made in a traditional monoblock design. It was a very ordinary device with large buttons and excellent build quality. He weighed only eighty grams. The battery compartment cover was placed on the back of the phone, and the manufacturer placed an LED flashlight on the top end. By the way, the device received signals excellently.

By 2011, the company undertakes to develop a new industry - mobile phones with support for two SIM cards. In addition, she is working on creating devices with protection from dust and moisture. Around the same time, constant deliveries of the company’s phones to the Big Three operators began -, and.

Next year, a mobile device with four SIM cards will appear. The model is called TM-420. It is equipped with a powerful audio processor from Yamaha. SIM cards are processed in standby mode. Thanks to the presence of proprietary sound and support for various audio formats, it turned out that the phone can be used as a full-fledged MP3 player. The device was made in the form of a classic candy bar. The 2.4-inch display had a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. Was provided Bluetooth support, WAP and GPRS. Accumulator battery had a capacity of 1100 mAh.

One of the most famous devices protected from moisture and dust is the smart phone model TM-3204R. It ran on a dual-core processor and Android OS. The amount of RAM was 768 megabytes. The screen diagonal was small (only 3.2 inches), and its resolution was low. However, the phone was designed for use in extreme conditions, and therefore such parameters were not needed. It had dense rubber inserts along the edges. All connectors were reliably protected with strong plugs. In other words, the manufacturer did everything possible to make the phone strong and durable. However, its main feature was precisely its water resistance: the device could be immersed in water to a depth of one meter (albeit for a short period of time), and was also reliably protected from dirt and dust. The device was quite weighty and massive.

In 2011, teXet began producing e-books with screens made using TFT technology. This has significantly increased the number of functional features of the readers, because now they have support for video playback.

At the end of the same year, devices based on the Android system appeared. In the fall of 2012, the company introduced the first e-reader on the Russian market with a 4.3-inch E-Ink screen. Subsequently, the diagonal increases to 8 inches, and the reader itself receives support for the Wi-Fi module.

In February 2011, sales of the company's tablets running Android OS began. The equipment produced received all the most necessary preinstalled programs, including applications of famous social networks. By the end of 2012, the company became the leading manufacturer of tablet computers in its price category. This industry is developing even more rapidly next year. Earlier, the company also presented a model of its first compact car DVR.

The company is the winner of a number of awards. In particular, prizes were awarded to a multimedia player, a TN-500 navigator, a DECT Colombo radiotelephone, and so on. Most of the products, as before, belong to the budget class of devices. In practice, this means that the company’s equipment is much cheaper than imported analogues.

Have you heard that there is a TEXET mobile phone? That's right, there is a trademark operating in Russia, offering electronic equipment under this brand. And no, we are not talking about yet another Chinese developer offering their copy of iPhone at an affordable price. This is a completely independent manufacturer that has already managed to realize itself in the market, which has 27 years of experience in interacting with domestic buyers. And yes, this company is of Russian origin.

And although, as we have already mentioned, products under this brand include tablet computers and e-readers (which you may have even heard of), the attention in today’s review will be focused mainly on what a mobile phone is TEXET.

Positioning

I would like to immediately note that TEXET is clearly not participating in the technology race, which is also going on between Chinese manufacturers. This can be judged by the characteristics that are indicated in smartphones. Take, for example, the TEXET TM 5007 mobile phone. On the company’s website store it is designated as New (a product that went on sale relatively recently). However, its parameters indicate that the device was clearly late in its appearance on the market. This is clearly demonstrated by a screen with a resolution of 540 by 960 pixels (despite the fact that some Chinese developers have long been supplying their devices with Full HD quality displays) or the amount of RAM of 512 MB. Such characteristics indicate that with such a device it will not be possible to run any modern game or program. Moreover, the performance of the smartphone as a whole will noticeably suffer (the resources are simply not enough even to smoothly expand the Android menu).

The lineup

The catalog of the TEXET online store presents all the models that the company offers. At the time of writing, it included 12 devices - smartphones with different features, capabilities and, of course, different pricing policy. All names are given in two variations - with the index X (X-mini, X-maxi, X-cosmo) and with a four-digit number (for example, TEXET TM 5016 telephone).

What is characteristic is that the catalog of devices is filled exclusively with smartphones (with a touch screen diagonal 4-5 inches, 2/4 nuclear processors operating on operating system Android 4.2.2/4.4.2. I would even like to point out that visually many devices are similar to each other, with the exception of the “protected” one (TEXET X-mega phone). The rest of the devices really seem to belong to the same class.

Design

I would immediately like to make a note regarding appearance mobile devices, sold under the TEXET brand. Firstly, there is nothing special about their design; something that might interest the buyer and provide him with some value. In fact, we have 11 “shovels” and 1 “protected” rubberized phone, which seem to have been designed according to the same model.

If you look closely, you can even notice some elements of the appearance of “top” devices - from Samsung, Apple and other developers. For example, the TM-4503 model is similar to the first, and the TM-5006 is similar to the second. Other device models also included some “borrowings”.

Obviously, when projecting their gadgets, TEXET specialists did not disdain outright plagiarism in order to please the buyer and increase sales due to this.

Hardware basis

When talking about TEXET smartphones, you shouldn’t expect them to be powered by powerful, cutting-edge processors that deliver serious performance. The devices we analyzed (X-mega, X-line) are capable of matching the available Chinese smartphone. It's about about 4-core Spreadtrum or MediaTek processors, which are more of a budget compromise than an application for speed.

Accordingly, the TEXET phone interacts at the same level - it can cope with most games on basic or average characteristics; but, of course, it won’t handle the “bulky” graphics of colorful gameplays. Plus, we should mention the small amount of RAM - only 512 MB or 1 GB. For comparison: in normal operating mode, the Android system consumes 300-400 MB of memory. Imagine what will happen if you run two or three programs in the background? The smartphone will simply experience serious problems with response - and its owner will feel a lot of inconvenience. And all because those who make the TEXET phone obviously tried to save as much as possible on components. To some extent, they, of course, succeeded.

Camera

For many users, the ability to take photos and videos is the most important feature of any smartphone. After all, it’s so convenient: as soon as the opportunity arises to take a photo in some unusual setting, take out your mobile phone (which you always carry with you anyway) and click a couple of frames. Of course, for this you need to have a device that is capable of this.

On paper, TEXET phones (we do not take into account reviews from real users for now) are equipped with two cameras, as befits modern phones of their class. These are the front camera for selfies and the main (rear) camera. Some of the described characteristics may even seem like solid 5- (like X-line) or 8-megapixel matrices (as is the case with TEXET iX). However, as we all know very well, this is not enough to speak with confidence about the quality of the images.

In fact, color rendition, camera focusing abilities, and the accuracy of software settings play a huge role. If the developer saves on this, even an 8-megapixel camera will shoot worse than one with a high-quality 5-megapixel matrix.

Therefore, speaking about the TEXET camera, we can confidently note that significant savings have been made on it. And you shouldn’t expect colorful, realistic pictures - these are smartphones of a completely different class.

Price policy

By the way, speaking about the classes of models, it should be noted that the phones belong to TEXET, their classification in terms of cost. So, as you can already understand, we are looking at budget devices that don’t pretend to have serious functionality. Their task is not to show stability, ample opportunities, or quality of work, but to present themselves to the buyer in the most attractive (from the point of view of acquisition) light. And, if you look closely, everything is designed for this.

We have already mentioned the first factor - design. It is copied from the most popular, best-selling devices. The second is the geographic location of the manufacturer. Well, of course, if it is a Russian company, then who wouldn’t want to support it by buying their product? Third is the price. The cost of the smartphones that we described in this article is an order of magnitude lower than even the most affordable “Chinese” ones. If the latter are offered for 8-12 thousand rubles, then a TEXET phone (for example, the X-mega model) will cost only 5-6 thousand. There is also a lower price positioning - take at least X-mini smartphone 2 with a price tag of 3400.

That is, as we see, the manufacturer consciously takes all measures to make the smartphone more accessible and tempting from the point of view of the average person. Of course, the buyer will not go into details technical characteristics, since, most likely, he himself does not understand them enough.
